Kendriya Vidyalaya, Deeptinagar was established on 15th December 1988 in the Temporary township (TTS) of Deeptinagar under the Project sector with single section up to class: VIII for imparting excellent education to the children of employees and surroundings. At present it is a double section school in the Permanent Township (PTS) of Deeptinagar from classes I To XII with a total strength of about 800 children. At +2 stage it has two streams i.e. SCIENCE & HUMANITIES.In addition to basic education, computer education is compulsorily imparted to students of class III TO XII. The school has a den of distinguished teachers - 10 PGTs, 09 TGTs, 11 PRTs and 05 Miscellaneous teachers. The primary section is efficiently looked after by an experienced H.M. , and the Vidyalaya well administered by a highly qualified Principal. the big and beautiful building of the Vidyalaya is divided into four blocks:

1. Primary Block
2. Secondary and senior Secondary Block
3. Laboratories and Departments' Block
4. Office and Library Block   

The school has two computer laboratories with twenty computers. The school owns 04 colour TVs, LCD Projector, OHP Film / Slide Projector and C.D., / Video / Audio Cassettes in sufficient numbers. The Vidyalaya well placed in the lap of Nature provides ample opportunities to children for their all round development - physical, intellectual and cultural. The beautiful gardens add to the aesthetic sense of the children. Keen interest is taken by the expert Physical Education Teacher for promoting games and sports ability as well as interest of the children. Kahalgaon is situated on the Bhagalpur Howrah Railway main route. All the trains have a stoppage at Kahalgaon. From Railway Station, it is easily accessible by Rickshaw/NTPC bus/taxi. It is also on the bank of holy Ganga .
